Who We Are

As a part of the International General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC), we are a volunteer non-profit community service club with a primary goal of improving lives in the Midlands of South Carolina, our state, our nation, and our world.

Our mission is to be dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. GFWC was founded in 1890 and has a rich history of building leadership skills in women and making our world a safer, better place. The GFWC Woman’s Club of the Midlands (WCOM) was founded in 1954 and federated in 1955. We are a part of GFWC-South Carolina. Although we hold social events throughout the Club year, our focus is serving our communities through volunteer service.

Our Members

We are a diverse group of women ranging from housewives to corporate officers to medical workers to business owners to retirees to moms of teenagers, and everything in-between! We have a variety of ages, beliefs, political affliations, hobbies, and lifestyles. There is no “stereotype” for our members, just a common desire to do as much good as possible, while maintaining  a humble appreciation and respect for our club sisters and our community. If this is your desire as well, we welcome you to join us!
